Today the Krewe turn EIGHT weeks!!!

What a special group of boys they are!

~~Conceived on the 4th of July (or very close to)~~

~~Born the day after Labor Day (3 via c-section)....of a Presidential election year~~

The Krewe are ladies men already. They have stolen the hearts of half-sisters Windy & Potter who helped raise and teach them how to 'treat her like a lady', mama Thyme (who still gets in the crate to snuggle with them), & their human family who get teary-eyed thinking of their departure (and release into the world..LOL).

Since most of our city has lost power and the Krewe experienced their first "power outage" enjoying nursing by candlelight, we decided to celebrate the wonder of restored electricity by having Gramma and Great-Gramma (my mom's mom and Gramma) over for a cookout..just the girls...cause Great-Grammy's power still isn't on.

..and Bela. Low key. Mom made my favorites, Chinese Chicken (garlic/ginger/teriyaki..mmmm), grilled taters and salad. We even had an organic apple pie for dessert..YUMMY!! I got to sample, maybe the Krewe will get garlic breath now!

Windy has taken on the responsibility of "entertaining" the Krewe. She has learned to nuzzle and the boys seek her out whenever she is in the whelping box, which is just as often as Thyme, often bringing 'gifts' of her favorite toys to them.

They don't quite understand her butt in the air play enticement.

They are still determined she can nurse them.

I'm sure if she could...she would.

She is a wonderful 1/2 sista and they will be surely schooled by two of the finest 1/2 sisters on how to treat a girl, when Poo returns home!

In case you forgot, this is Thyme and this is MY blog!

While I admit, I'm quite proud of my Krewe-boys, I think I'm raising a group of boob boys for sure. I kinda like the arrangement though, mom feeds me, and I feed the Krewe. I guess you heard I had surgery?!?! Seems there was a rescue effort in force since Gumbo decided he just wasn't ready to come out and tried to go joing his brothers, Iko & Cajun.

But I'm better. Mom had to keep me from jumping and help me take it easy on the stairs, but it's all good..I get a warm rub down each night as mom cares for my boo-boo.

So here's some stats on the Krewe!

Today they are 11 days old:

Po'Boy: 10 ounces at birth, 1# 10 ounces at 11 days!
Beignet: 12 ounces at birth, 1# 13 ounces at 11 days!

Remy and I welcome FIVE feisty boys into the world today! Mom said I was a champ at bringing Po'Boy and Beignet into the world, but my body just couldn't go on longer with the shenanigans the KREWE were playing. So I went to visit Dr. Y and Dr. W and all my pals at the PAC where they gave me something really fun but made me really sleepy, then they went in my belly and rescued the rest of the KREWE!

My belly hurts a lot, but mom is camping out in my room with my babies and giving me lots of love, and some of those cookies Miss Manda brought from the CT...*yummy* in my now baby empty tummy!

Tomorrow is my xray, the day it all comes to light and answers the question we've all been asking..."What's going on in that belly?"!!! Miss Amanda is in town (WHOOHOOO) and she and mom are going to take me to Dr. W tomorrow to get our first glimpse of the KREWE!

Today I received a lovely baby shower gift box from REEEEMMMMYYYY!!! He sent me and the KREWE a lovely jam packed boxy of TOYS!!! I know they are supposed to be for the kids, but I had to steal one and give it a good WEEEEEEEEEKY.

Mom has started charting the temperature of the oven the KREWE are brewing. I told her it's preheated and kept at the prime temperature for excellent growth, but she ain't buyin' it. So while I have been home growing little buggers in my belly, Remy was out falootin' at the show in Atlanta this weekend with his son (by another mother), Kyou. I have to give them props though, Kyou earned a new title, his Rally Excellent..

29 and 1/2

Not my age, my height (that would make me WAY big for a Vizsla), or my IQ. Mom saw that I was feeling a little down because I hear Windy and Bela scoffing at my belly, making remarks about my size, then mom and I went walking around our neighborhood yesterday and some boys (and I stress BOYS) started laughing as mom and I walked by saying "that dog needs a lot more than walking to get the fat off".

Guess they are the ones with the 29 and 1/2 IQ...genuises can't see the difference between FAT and PREGGERS! Guess they missed my big...well.....buttons on my belly too! DUH!

So mom took my waist measurement tonight and told me I should be very proud of my 29 and 1/2 inch girth as I am just a few inches shy of most fashion models' waistlines. Mom measured her waistline too, just to make me happy and she and I could almost be TWINS! I guess that's why she lets me borrow some of her Tshirts when I am weaning my babies.

I'm feeling a little better. Mom and I are relaxin' in our chair, she even put on her "fat pants" to make me feel better.

That's what mom's are for and as a good mom I'd like to give a shout out to my daughter Poo, who ran in her first Gun Dog stake today and while she still has much to learn, word from the mouth of Mr. Jamie is that he was quite proud of her and what took her out of the game was what took many others out of the game. But she kept strong, and ran long...2 finds, great birdwork, nice backing....what more could you ask for the first day out?!?!!?

Go Poo! We wuff you and we miss you! I bet her waistline is like Kate Moss.

Well, it's getting harder to get around now. To keep me feeling like an olympic medalist, mom has been so kind to take the ottoman from my favorite chair upstairs and put it at the foot of the bed so I can have a springboard to the luxury of the bed. I fall asleep in my "bat" pose quite often and mom has started whispering to my belly.....umm..okay.

So here's me, Day 51. The KREWE is movin back towards the light...."GO INTO THE LIGHT"..."Please for the love of GOD, go into the Light!!!"

Today my BooDaddy kids turn 2! Chase, Keller, Butters, Tily, Bella, Cash, Gus, and our very own Windy. Two years ago today I brought these little 'berries into the world and while at times I feel I could take Windy OUT of this world, our home would not be the same without her. Let's just hope the mold was broke when Windy was born, cause her antics sure do keep us on our toes..spider bites, running away, being swept down a river (thank goodness mom can swim pretty good).

This morning mom was up real early, well early for US and got to work in the garden. Clipping, washing, pulling... Then she was busy busy in the kitchen and the smells....MMMMMMM, basil, garlic, and every cooker's BFF...EVOO!!! Then with a flip of a switch....yummy green goodness..

HOMEADE BASIL PESTO!!! I got to be the taste tester....Excellente (I think I'm Ameri-Hungari-Italiano!).

For our next dish....Couscous with Tomatoes and Okra...now that's down home cookin'!!!

Who knew our garden had so much YUMMY things. No wonder mom got after Bela when he would try to write his name on the plants.

My daughter Arwen and Mrs. Lyn sent me a great card today for my "Expectation" and you can tell from the card, that they are members of "Team Pink" just like my mom and Ms. Amanda, and I am the President.

Mom used to dance ballet so she got a kick out of the card too but I told her I wasn't wearing those legwarmer things and she can forget about toe shoes too. People make fun of dogs in getup like that and if my legs get cold, I just get under the covers.

This is me...Day 30! Just about 1/2 way through. Mom and I went shopping today and while she was collecting holistic food and organic this and that...I had my eyes feasting on the TREAT SECTION...virtual junk food for dogs!!!! The pasturized-processed, preservative packed deliciousness....McDonald's for dogs!!

Mom opted for the Blue Buff Peanut Butter treats...I can do peanut butter!! She also threw in a giant sized box of dried chicken strips...now THAT'S my girl!! At the checkout I could not contain myself...IMPULSE BUY! When she wasn't looking I yanked that Minty Mailman right off the shelf and crunched it good before mom could say "no"...HAHAHAHAHA!

Today my mom is a little 'motional, it's the burfday of her first Vizsla, Czardas who would be 11 years old if she were still here..wow that's OLD! She was very young when she went to heaven but mom says she sees little parts of her in all of us...EWWW!

So tonight we are going (yes all FOUR of us are going) to Wendy's, not WINDY's as she has been calling it all day, but the burger joint! That's the place mom and her friend went to the night they picked Czardas up from her breeder and where mom would take her (and me) every year for her burfday!

Mom orders us cheeseburgers and an order of fries to split....wonder if I might swing a frosty...hmmmmmm.

Mom hosted a family cookout last night and it was a blast! Food, 'fresments, and FUN! All the regular crew was there and even some long distance relatives from Calfor-ni-A! I kept busy as the social greeter, food sampler, and cornhole referee.

So we got a little catty the other day Bela stole a chewy from Potter and we girls gotta stick together. So while he was busy chewin' on the contraband, we watched him from our perch on the bed and like girls do when they get together.....make silly fun of boys!!

As the song goes (for those of you B-boy fans). Mom's been workin' extra hard, taking on extra shifts, weekends, and really stashin' away for Poo's (P-double-O, P-double-O) style and her upcoming field season. She said she's gotta get it in now before the babies come. But I don't think she realizes..the Hedgie babies are already HERE!!! Poo and Windy are taking good care of them, carrying them around in their mouths all the time and fighting over who loves them more.

Tonight she worked on renovating our dog room. Sizing up for a new floor, shopping for shelves, and hanging photos of none other than....US, and my puppies of course!!!

Now..it's 'nuggle thyme!

5 Year Old Single Golden Rust Male In Search Of an EFFING CLUE!

Someone needs to send Bela a message in a bottle...and thunk him right on his thick skull with it, cause he thinks I'm still *IN* which I'm *NOT* but then again he thinks we ALL are *IN*..Windy, POO...sheesh, get a cluuuuuuueeee!!!

Poo taught us girls the gator chomp and that doesn't even phase this 5-year-old virgin. Not that I don't love him to bits but it's more like brotherly love...not *that* kind of love. We've teased him with toys, dangled our chew bones in front of him to no avail, he's a lost cause. Ok OK, so we haveee teased him a little but, hey..they don't call us bitches for nuthin!

Mom just hugs him and lets him hang out in the dogroom when he gets all googly.....mama's boy.

And while I may live in Kentucky.....that just ain't happenin'!

Since Potter's been gone, we've been gettin her share of necks and backs (and bones too)...well tonight mom gave us backs for dinner and Potter snubbed her nose at them. Guess she's straight kibble now.....a real 'potatoes' kinda girl. Well, mom finally gave up and surrendered to fixing her a bowl of kibble with yogurt and some veggies...food snob.

So I only feel it fitting, since I AM the oldest, obviously the most mature, and could be a new Baby Mama....you gonna eat that chicken back? Let me take that off your paws....

So 2085.6 miles later we are home. Tired. Bred. Well, at least ME anyway. Mom says I have to go get poked one more time...sheeesh. Between being poked by all those vets and being...well......poked by......oh nevermind.

Anyway we are home. Mom says no photos tonight...we all LOOK tired. So here's a photo of me on my 6th birthday and NO I was NOT DRUNK!!

Our final stop on our voyage is ALL FOR ME!! Mom, Miss Beth, & Mr. Chet might have done some movies, tourist stops, and true "vacay" stops, but y'all know this stop was MINE (and Remy's too)!!

It was like we were long lost lovers and he just swooooned over me. While a nice dinner and drinks would have been nice for courting (ahhhhhemmmm), I at least got a serenade of his love to me. Mom, Beth, & Chet did the dining and drinking!

A good girl doesn't kiss and tell......MUCH! Remy & I spent 3 glorious days together and I managed to get in a quickie before we hit the road for home!

Our next stop on our tour was further down south to visit Mr. Paul, Miss Jen, Patriot, Tomboy, Buffy and my first "boy" Shooter. Poor Tootie he's still in love with me so I perused by his kennel just to give him a smooch. Sorry Tootie, I got me another man.

Mom took the girls to the beach and she did some touristy things. Miss Poo got spoiled as usual by Mr. Paul and Miss Jen gave me lots of smooches too. Mom was sad when we had to go, because she wanted to see 'daddy & daughter' hunting out at the lake. We wuuuuv going to visit them.

We only got to stay for 3 days so I hope mom can catch her 'daddy/daughter' hunt sometime this fall.

Meanwhile, mom keeps taking me to all these vets like she's vet shopping. Are we moving FO-REAL? Seems they all want to poke me...Georgia vet pokes me....Tampa vet pokes me...they all want a piece of me.

..because she's the SH*T!! Our first stop on our Southern Tour was to Oconee Kennel to visit Jamie, Tippe, Miss Lily (who is tooo cute) and all the birddogs in training to pick up POO (AKA Southern Harmony)! Boy was she happy to see mom, she tackled her to the GROUND...you go Poo! She gave the kennel a nice song and dance right after she smothered mom with kisses. Mom got to train with Jamie for a few days and see what the buzz is all about on Miss Poo. She first decided that seeing mom was just too much and could not CONTAIN herself as a birddog and gave Jamie a run for his money. Luckily it was just a momentary laspse of training...cause Sunday she ROCKED the FIELD! Mom came back to the house where I was locked in captivity...ha..and told me all about it..with tears in her eyes. Steady, stauch, beautiful! Way to go POO!

We wuuuuuved Oconee farm. We got to see all kinds of people...Miss Karen, Miss Trish, Mr. Matt, Miss Justeen, Miss Julie, Miss Amber and red dogs (and some other colored ones too) and run run run!!

Well, tonight is a short entry. Bela got shipped off to Gramma and Grampa's for a 10-day fun filled vacation of birdwatching, squirrel chasing (keep 'em in line Bay!), and hangin' out with his man Grampa workin' on the motorcycle.

As for me, we got all packed up tonight for a truly "bitchin" road trip!!

So until I go drift off to sleep...I"m just gonna chew the crotch out of this woobie!

Since we are soon to be leaving on a 10 day VACAY I thought it would be in my best interest to get a nice base tan down before hitting the beach in my skivvies. However, in the comforts of my own privacy fenced yard, I prefer to tan in my birthday suit.

As any good mother does, I'd like to send a HUGE shout out to my lovely daughter Potter, or as those who love her know her..POO! Poo has been spending some time learning the ropes as a FO-REAL bird dog at the controls of her new-man Jamie Fountain. Well not to boast or brag....

...well..if you insist...

apparently she is some birddog prodigy (of course) because she has skillz and is staunch on birds, got nice big run, and is a looker to boot!!! Less than a week left before we get to see her wheels in action as she rejoins our family for a 10-day VACAY to Florida, then it's off North with her new crew to fine-tune before the games begin. BTW...it's a dummy collar and the remote is for the launcher so I've been told!

We also want to give a shout to Miss Grammeee Julieee (our surrogate grammy) for keeping POO in line and keeping her well groomed for all those field boys this fall! She sent us these pics of her today and we think she is just BEAUTIMUS!!!!!!

Bitch Britches 101

It has been brought to my attention that some of my readers are having a hard time understanding the concept of the Bitch Britch...so I thought I would take a little strut down the catwalk (MEOW!) and show them some of my styles of britches. You are welcome to take notes..but no puparazzi please. Victoria's Secret, eat your heart out!

My first pair and what mom sometimes uses as "training britches" for those "first timers". It's amazing that they still fit...proof that I AM retaining my girlish figure.

These are my jeans. Mom calls them my "hip huggers", I call them my "Calvin's". Tommy Hilfiger..nah..I'm a Calvin Klein girl! Take THAT Kate Moss.

For my next outfit, I'd like to show off my "sunny day" britches. A lovely floral print which truly dazzles the boys. Feminine..frilly...and just darn cute. It's about as close to lace that I'll get.

Finally my evening wear. A little low rise, a little high rise.

It's my version of every girl's little black dress.

So now you know the scoop on the britches. Every good girl lines them, only the floozies go commando on liners..ick! Remember to remove them when you do your "business", lest you get soggy bottoms. Grampa is notorious for letting me in the yard in my britches and chasing me around to try to "pants" me. Silly boys.

Miss 'Manda sent me some crampathy today when I told her I was feeling a little bloated, moooody, and so out of energy all I could do is moooo in my big chair as mom rubbed my tummy. She said I just needed to relax and look forward to my VAYCAY!!

'Manda says she would take some Motrin, but I can't do that. Instead, mom and I 'nuggled up in our chair and she rubbed my tummy some more and she didn't get after me when I got mad at Bela.

My daughter Butters should send me some crampathy, this is all her fault....but I forgive her.

It must have been gas because there are no babies in my belly. So I guess I should say "excuuuuuuuuuseeeee meeeeeee" for all the belching I've done lately.

I guess the cool thing now is that mom gets the next few months off to go play with my other babies, take some trips, and I hear someone is moving out and someone is moving in....hmmmmm. Better not be me or I'm taking my new bed and goin' to Gramma's!!
